BIBLE TRANSLATION
Today in the English language, there are well over 100 different translations of The Bible. People often ask, “What’s the difference?”, “Aren’t all Bibles the same?” They’re not! The fact is…Things that are different are not the same! The difference is simple. There are basically two main bloodlines for Bible translation. One, and only one, Bible, The Old, Authorized King James Version is completely translated from a group of manuscripts in the original languages of Hebrew and Greek called The Textus Receptus. Every, and all, other translations of The Bible in the English language are translated from corrupt texts of the Sinaiticus and Vaticanus manuscripts! These two manuscripts were discovered and used by the linguists Westcott and Hort in producing a modern version of the Bible, and in other places they have added words, phrases and passages. For example in the Four Gospels they omit at least 2877 words, add 536 words, substitute another 935 words, transpose 2098 words, and alter (modifies) another 1132 words making a total of 7578 changes! In fact they disagree even with each other in over 5000 additional places! Since the turn of the century, every translation committee has consulted the erroneous works of Westcott and Hort in their efforts to modernize The Bible. Even, The New King James Version, which has tried to lay its claim to fame on the coattails of The Authorized King James Version, also used the works of Westcott and Hort and has changed The Word of God!
At Rosedale Baptist Church, we exclusively use the Authorized, Old King James Version, because we believe it is the only reliable translation for The English speaking people. We believe in the inspiration, inerrancy, and infallibility of God’s Holy Word and these qualities have all been preserved in The KJV. All Scripture memorization and materials used or distributed are based upon The KJV. For reference on this matter, please consider… II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21, 25; Psalm 119:89; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 5:18; Matthew 24:35. |
